When we at LUMË decided to add Entrupy certification to our catalogue, it was not a marketing decision. It was a direct response to something we had been seeing in our own inbox for months: dozens of messages from customers asking the very same thing, over and over again — “how do I know if my Louis Vuitton is genuine?”, “is the free authenticity code I found online worth anything?”, “can you certify it for me even if I didn't buy it here?”
The technology
What Entrupy is and why it is not “just another code”
Entrupy is an authentication system based on microscopy, trained on millions of images of genuine and counterfeit pieces from the world's leading luxury maisons. Rather than relying on a serial number — which any counterfeiter of average quality can copy — Entrupy analyses, live, the texture of the material, the stitching, the leather and dozens of micro-details that are invisible to the human eye. That is why the scan is always carried out with the piece physically present, never from loose photographs.
The result is a technical report valid for resale, insurance and appraisal, something a free authenticity code looked up on a website simply cannot offer.

A lifetime certificate: what exactly does it mean?
The authenticity report is issued and archived permanently, linked to the unique characteristics of your piece. It never expires, and you can present it to a private buyer, a luxury resale platform, an insurance company or an auction house whenever you need to.

How can I tell if a Louis Vuitton handbag is genuine without certifying it?
You can look at the stitching, the symmetry of the monogram or the quality of the leather, but these are useful signs, not conclusive ones. Whenever there is any real doubt, technical certification is the only reliable route.
Is it reliable to check a Louis Vuitton authenticity code for free online?
Not conclusively. No free service has official access to the brand's databases, and the code on its own does not guarantee that the rest of the piece is genuine.
Is the certificate valid for life?
Yes. Once issued, the report is archived permanently; it does not depend on you remaining a LUMË customer and it has no expiry date.
What does the authenticity certificate cost?
The price depends on the brand tier and includes insured shipping both ways: from 52 € for contemporary labels up to 105 € for Prestige pieces. For Ultra Prestige (Hermès Birkin, Kelly...) write to us for an insured-shipping quote based on the value of your piece.
Why do I have to send the handbag rather than photos?
Entrupy's technology analyses micro-details of the material live with a microscopy device, so it needs the piece physically present. It is not possible to certify from loose photographs.
Is the shipping insured?
Yes, both the outbound and the return shipment are insured for the declared value, and that cost is already included in the price of your certification.
Do you certify handbags I didn't buy from LUMË?
Yes, we offer the certification service independently of any sale or purchase, both for pieces bought in other shops and for inherited or gifted handbags.
Can I certify a wallet, a belt or shoes as well as a handbag?
Yes. Entrupy's technology also authenticates wallets, purses, belts and footwear. Write to us before buying so we can apply the corresponding discount.
How long does the whole process take?
Between sending your piece, the analysis and its return with the certificate, the whole process usually takes between 5 and 10 working days, depending on the courier.
Do I need the original receipt to certify my handbag?
It is not essential. The analysis is based on the physical examination of the piece, not on the purchase documentation.
